Our approach

From the law to the PDF, step by step

EqualDoc automatically handles every aspect of a PDF's accessibility that can be detected and fixed by technical means: tags and headings, reading order, tables, forms, alternative text, document language and metadata, scanned pages included. It works on your existing document and preserves its content and appearance wherever possible. Nothing has to be rebuilt in the source application.

EqualDoc then validates the result against the machine-testable requirements of PDF/UA and EN 301 549. Anything that needs human judgement, such as whether an alternative text describes a chart correctly, is clearly flagged in the report.

EqualDoc is under active development. It does not issue certificates of conformity and does not provide legal advice.
